” Phosphorescence”
“All things are one thing and that one thing is all things” – Plankton.
“Phosphorescence” depicts a naked woman, upside down, covering half of the moon, and seemingly lost in space. The woman is highlighted in this work as the center of universe. The artist portrays the woman as a phosphorescent being; glowing in the dark and illuminating the entities around her. At first sight, the woman looks lost, remote, and out of place. However, what “Phosphorescence” is trying to do, is open the door to question the role of women in society. Much like the moon, a woman keeps people around her from disappearing in the darkness.
